Thia Megia can Smile after tommorrow

Well we knew there was a reason not to believe the Spoilers coming out the woodwork's from the LIVE taping of American Idol. That episode just aired today and gloomsayers are all wrong about Thia's rendition of MJ's cover of Nat king Cole's SMILE.

Granted that Thia did not receive critiques that are high flying as last week, her rendition is something that takes you from the classy suburban of heaven to the jassy finesse of eternity. The transition is the most troublesome for her, and that's just the take of the producer not the singer.



She will definetely sail through this one, though not as high as her prior performance.

Thia Megia American Idol "Personal idol" Week

Thia Megia was compared to Michael Jackson's tone last week by Randy, obviously Thia would have sung a song that's from Michael Jackson but not this soon!!!

According to spoilers :

Thia Megia got only so-so comments from the judges regarding her performance of “Smile” by Michael Jackson. Randy Jackson thought the beginning was great, but that the end was a bit pitchy while Jennifer Lopez liked the way she moved on stage and said she hopes to see more.

To those who have followed Thia over the years, she can deliver MJ songs with authority like in this video with David Foster:



She had also expressed covering MJ song Music and Me, but in all the years that we have been following her in Youtube, she has never covered Smile.

What could have possibly went wrong with the Song choice? Unavailability of those 2 songs mentioned above for American Idol broadcast?

Right before the American Idol Top 13 results announcement, Thia Megia's mom was taken via ambulance to the hospital for fainting.

Remember this scene?


A lot have been written about her choice of garment that results night but it turns out that she is wearing her mom's sweater who was just taken to the hospital hours before the live taping.

Get to Know Thia Excerpts from Entertainment Weekly Q&A with Top 13

Here is the excerpt to entertainment Weekly's Interview with the American Idol Top 13, we have selected Thia's Q&A session and is presenting it here:

What sets you apart from the other contestants?

Thia Megia: Everyone has commented about my clothes. They say I like to dress ''interestingly.'' I am just being myself. I am the youngest one left, but I am 16 now. I am the quiet one. But I love being inspirational to people. I love to write poetry, songs, and stories. I try to be as creative as I can in as many ways as I can and I think that shows in my arrangements and my song choices and how I dress.

What do you need to improve to make it all the way through the competition?

Thia Megia: I am pretty hard on myself. Before every performance, I get really nervous and I need to work on confidence. I think part of the key to staying in the competition is getting people to like you and believe in you and if you show that you don't believe in yourself 100 percent that can slip into the performance.

How did you feel about the sudden death semi-final round this year? Is it tough saying goodbye to so many people so suddenly?

Thia Megia: I had so much going on in my head up on that stage. Do people like me? Do they think I'm too young and I have way more years that I could come back? Did I choose the right song? A lot of my best friends went home tonight. That hurt. That was like a punch in the stomach.

Any theme nights you are really dreading?

Thia Megia: I try to get myself singing as many genres as I can so they don't scare me. The real challenge is making a song your own. It is a fine line, because I think people like to recognize a song too. I like to make the song my own and not even country scares me. I've sung plenty of country before.

How are you feeling about the judges — is there anyone in your corner? Do you miss Simon?

Thia Megia: Maybe Steven [is in my corner]. But they have all been really helpful and encouraging to me. They are so nice. You really want to impress them every week. It gives me a goal to reach.

We are Back!!

As much as I wanted to update the blog late last year, there was not really any news for Thia after the fact that she gave indication of trying out for AGT again as we reported in this blog.

Little do we know that its actually American Idol she was contemplating on joining.

This blog have been hijacked at the excat time that Thia was actually making her waves through Hollywood rounds and We have just got it back online from those malicious sites that redirected the URL to their site.

So as of now the design of the page will be going through an overhaul at least we can now post again

Thia Megia contemplates another America Got Talent run

It's a new year and it seems Thia started the new year with her goals intact from last year's appearance in America Got Talent.

One of Thia's major appearance besides America Got Talent was in The David Foster and Friends in Vancouver, Canada last November where she finally met fellow Filipina sensation Charice.



These two sensational talents have been the best of friends since then.

Most recently Thia shared that she is contemplating another run in this years America Got Talent:

Thia Megia performs for David Foster!!!

It's been a while since we heard anything on the grapevine for Thia Megia, rest assured that she has been busy both with school works and her singing.

She sung recently the US national Anthem for California Redwoods Oct. 17, 2009.

However her biggest Gig to date is her participation in the David Foster and Friends concert in San Jose California Nov. 8, 2009.

The packed Arena saw not 1 but 2 powerful and Filipina young voices of our time as both Thia Megia and one of her idol Charice Pempengco belted out David Foster's compositions like veterans, as the crowd roars in ecstasy.

Incidentally Thia Megia was invited to perform in the David Foster and Friends as a contestant from David Foster's Namedrop.com talent search in which the 15 time Grammy awardee personally picked Thia to showcase her talent on stage with him garnering Thia Megia a trip to the closing of the concert in Vancouver.

Meeting Charice might have been the highlight of Thia's concert experience but for Charice its also an awesome experience as she speaks highly of her in her Twitter account:
