Local Bay Area wunderchild Thia Megia who was eliminated 2 weeks ago from American Idol will finally have a homecoming concert given to her by her Mountain House community on April 23, 2011.

According to sources close to the MH community, the original date of Thia Megia's homecoming day was supposed to be April 16, 2011 at the Mountain House Central Park. However, MH Board of governor Celeste Farron said:

That was a plan in process, but in Thia's best interest, since she has not received permission to participate from the powers that be at American Idol, we have put on hold our plans to welcome her home/congratulate her.
Thank you all for understanding that this postponement is in keeping with helping Thia honor her contract with and allegiance to American Idol.

Trinity Productions and LMG Attractions were contracted for the benefit concert on April 23 which they official announced in twitter earlier:

At age 7, Thia already was singing an original composition and she's been badgering her mother to help her get into NBC's "America's Most Talented Kid."

At 16 years, Cynthia shared that Thia still badgers her mom to help her make her dream come true.

Now, Thia believes that she had reached her goal eventhough she wasn't lucky enough to stay longer in American Idol.

“Hello, my fans from the Philippines. I want to thank you so much for all the support you’ve given me. I can honestly tell you that the support you have given me has given me the means to accomplish much more,” greets Thia.

“If it’s something that you really, really want to do, then you don't think about how hard it is going to be for you being so young. Just think about what’s ahead of you and how much will you have in you to make it happen,” Thia added

“First thing I did was say hello to my dog because I haven't seen her in... forever,” sabi ni Thia.

Thia Megia answer 10 Questions on MTV's Idol Party LIVE

MTV's Idol Party LIVE is on hiatus until next week but are excited to share the upcoming show with Naima and Thia that they have released a portion of the taping last week, this week.

MTV Shows

Randy Jackson cost Thia Megia & Pia Toscano with his Curse. Is Lauren next?

A few weeks ago Randy Jackson (@YO_RANDYJACKSON) told Thia Megia that she needed to sing something other than a ballad, she took his advice and was sent to the bottom 3. Thia tried to redeem herself with another ballad the week after heeding Randy's call for an uptempo song and was eliminated.

He also told Pia Toscano the same thing, but Pia ignored Randy by singing "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" during Elton John Week... She was safe. One week later Toscano finally decided to pick up the tempo and was eliminated from the show. Randy Jackson and his "up tempo" advice is cursed!

Pia was considered by many to be a frontrunner in season 10, but the tween/teen girl vote reigns supreme. The female contestants are dropping like flies, while "cute boys" dodge the bottom three week to week. Will Pia's elimination wake a sleeping giant? The part of America who votes based on talent, or will the Top Five resemble a crudely slapped together boy band?

The bottom three were Pia, Jacob Lusk (bottom 3 virgin), and Stefano Langone (2nd trip?).

The show leading up to the Pia shocker included the return of Constantine Maroulis to the Idol stage, the obligatory Ford car commercial, and the Top 9 stopping by the TMZ offices for a lesson on how to handle the press.

Randy also gave the same advice to Lauren Alaina lately. Is she next?

Mountain House pins hope on Thia Megia & Won

MOUNTAIN HOUSE, CA – The Bay Area’s Thia Megia may have been eliminated on American Idol but people from her hometown and fellow Filipinos said they still have a lot to thank her for.

A Mountain House resident once described her community as one in need of good news after America’s recession caused a lot of foreclosures in this small town in the last few years. And in the last few months they’ve found it in Thia Megia.

“There’s no denying that Thia put us on the map,” said Celeste Farron, who works for Mountain House Community Services.

Farron had organized community parties to support the sweet singing sixteen year old Filipina in chasing her dream. Megia was eliminated on the talent show on Thursday night.

While Megia now finds herself on the sidelines, she is still qualified to participate in the “Idol” concert tour this summer.

Billboards expressing support for her on the streets of Mountain House will not be taken down, nor the bumper stickers on the cars of her grateful neighbors.

“She’s got a lot ahead of her and i think it’s just the beginning and not the end”, Farron said.

In a Filipino household in Union City, friends of the Megia’s gathered in the same house where they would vote for her each week. On Thursday night, when Thia and fellow contestant Naima Adedapo got voted off the show, they consoled each other.

“We were very stressed out when we watched it but we’re still proud of her,” her dentist, Lita Trinidad-Libot said.
